Time for an Ensure?

Harvest Pie... but what's that ceramic tile on top of the vegetables?

Bland and uninspiring

Sticky toffee pudding with the ubiquitous custard

It doesn't look very pretty close up, does it?

  3. Sage: Do you mean my x-ray? I'm having an operation on Wednesday to see how the fracture looks under a live x-ray. Keep your fingers crossed. I've had enough now and really want to go home.

  4. what happend to the private patient menu TM?
Have they put you back on the slops!!

This is an outrage, we should rally the troops and demand you are returned to better food forthwith

Hope you had a reasonable birthday, as reasonable as it can be with your leg in Traction and good luck for Wednesday

  5. Aw TM! Good luck with the live xray! Hope it shows things are going in the right direction!

  6. Hope all goes well for you on wednesday! :D happy belated birthday by the way...

  7. I think we have an explanation for the amount of custard though - it's desperately trying to inject some moisture into the pudding!

Do you know what the doctors are expecting the outcome to be from Weds or are they in the dark until they actually do the live x-ray? I hope it's good news.

  8. Time for ensure - more like time for an enema!!! Sorry I can't stand not commenting a moment longer ... my heart goes out to you ... I had 6 weeks of similar shite in Royal North Shore horse-piddle in Sydney last year and the fare was WORSE.
Just know you're being thought of from afar ;)

  10. Wednesday, eh. Hmmm. And have they decided what the cause is of the pain? Or is the op partly to find out?

I quite agree with you about Harpabout Harmosapiens. Watched her (just) on Jeremy Vine on Sunday and saw her thrashing about trying to convince the nation that she and her ilk have learned their lessons and will offer their vast purses to the cost-cutting axe. Honestly, all of them, the whole damned lot of them, need roasting in sump oil and used as firelighters for Thursday's bonfires.

They're all greedy, self-obsessed, self-important, jumped up, selfish oafs and I just wish that if there were any decent ones hidden in there under the trampling trotters they would bloody well cause a rebellion. An all-party rebellion against the greedy barstewards living well AT OUR EXPENSE.

Ms Harmosapiens bleats on about public service and means not a single word of it. I wish old Jeremy would drag her back on and make her eat every one of her words with a shovel.

I could go on, as we all could. SIGHHHHHH.

Have a decent day, TM. Grit those teeth and set your chin. We're all rallying behind you and wishing you well. And if you're too tired or in too much pain to blog we will just act the giddy goats and prance about and post stuff til you're able to join in again.

xx to you and your good lady wife.

  11. I'm very impressed with your close-up shots of the food. They have a sort of geological look to them which may be more accurate than you intended.

A few things I have noticed over the past weeks: 1. Hospitals seem to have redefined the meaning of the word "pie", and 2. they appear to have an astonishing abundance of peas and custard. I feel sure there must be a good reason behind this. Are peas and custard perhaps the secrets to the nutritionally perfect diet?

  12. Ugh. harvest Pie. At least you got more veg in it than I did back in July. In fact, I think that's the one I couldn't eat that you've got there. Best of luck on Wednesday. I think the cabin fever gets much worse if there's actually a wee bit of hope that you're going to get out. I reckoned time was going backward for a while and I'm not joking

  13. Keeping my fingers crossed for wednesday's op, hope the live x-ray goes well and you are released to Mrs TMs custardy... lol she might want to take some tips from the hospital kitchens...xx

  14. That, my dear TM, is not "sticky" anything. It is what is known in the trade as Burned to Buggery. I sincerely hope you didn't actually eat any of it - I'm sure it could interfere with your X-ray results!

  15. That custard TM is designed to make you glow in the dark, a well known NHS energy saver ;o)

  16. That isn't pastry...it's a piece of concrete pavement isn't it? just as solid too, I'll bet!

TM, I don't think you'll ever be able to face sponge and custard again once when you out.

verification word: medirolo. Maybe some type of medicinal chocolate:-)

  17. I have an extremely painful stomach ache. Could this be pea poisoning?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Aha, the recycled peas, as each day passes they become less and less attractive.

Could you possibly mark them with felt pen, just to see if yours come back to you.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Would pea poisoning show up on your med chart as a UTI then?

  20. Q. What is the difference between mashed potatoes and pea soup?

    A. Anyone can mash potatoes....

  21. Harvest pie eh ? Doctor Who episode with a stretched out piece of skin called Cassandra i think it was called more like. Look closely and you can almost see a face on the pie, squinting eyes and white fangs in the middle...!!!!

Could be the NHS has a deal with the BBC and using the props dept...lol.

    Ness..

  22. Hi TM,sorry to hear of your stomach pain, as if it weren't enough to be in traction for so long and to get offered peas and custard way too often. Just think of it, if you had gone pregnant the baby would be about to be born these days; and this lying around in hospital would be over soon. Please ask the staff if they can give you some medication against the sickness! I'm "keeping my fingers crossed" for you for Wednesday!! Greetings from Styria. Barbara

  23. I hope it doesn't get any worse or they might cancel my operation and that will mean I have to stay in hospital even longer :-( PLease no more bad luck!
