Lazy Sunday roast

This sums up the feeling in the house today. And who could blame him after a lunch like this?

Roast pork with crispy salted crackling

That's the sort of lunch you just have to sleep off

  4. XTM,

I'm so happy that you can enjoy days like this after your ordeal in hospital. You deserve it :-)

Hoping this lazy Sunday fortifies you for the physiotherapy yet to come.

    Many blessings!

  5. Ohhhhh that roast dinner looks GOOD! No wonder hospital food was driving you so potty if this is the usual standard! And the picture of your cat is super; really makes me miss mine... hope you feel as content as he looks.

  6. Oh my mouth is watering just looking at that. We haven't had roast pork for ages but I think it will be on the menu very soon!
I see Whisky now loves the log burner too. Best place to be today.

  7. Goodness, I hope Mrs TM isn't feeling under too much pressure to produce all these delicious-looking meals for you to post! However, I think we will know if you resort to Google Images to cover the rare occasions when you have baked beans on toast. This food must be doing you the world of good but please continue to fight the fight about inexcusable hospital food

  8. I was glad to see the picture of the pork as I thought for a moment you'd roasted Whisky! This all looks delicious.

  9. Adorable cat! And funny wooden hedgehog as well! The lunch would have been too heavy for me, though. We used to have fare a bit like that for holidays back when I was living at home and it used to feel awkward in my stomach even then. I had a bowl of liver dumpling soup, a piece of chicken picata milanese with tomato stew and a slice of chestnut cake for lunch today in the pub ... I love the greens on your plate - was it spinach? Wishing you all the best! Barbara (Styria)

  10. It was indeed spinach. That wasn't my plate. I think i left my appetite in hospital. I can't eat a lot these days and drink is best avoided. It was a very nice lunch though and my eldest daughter visited with her boyfriend.

  11. I'm with you XTM, that is a lot of food. When I saw the headline and then a photo of a cat, I was worried that NHS somehow sent you a plate of dinner.

I'm glad you had a nice visit with your daughter...mine brought her b-f also. We had a delicious pot roast.

Hope you sleep well when you are able to sleep.

  14. Lovely. I would have preferred that to the pizza and chocolate cake requested by my daughter but hey, it was her 18th birthday.... I hope you are OK today XTM and that the pain is bearable. Your ordeal is far from over and we're all rooting for you.

  15. XTM, Be very careful if your log pile is right up against your log burner. Someone told me he used to do that...until he noticed the wood smoldering. Ooops!

  16. I used to come on here and then look at my plate and think (smugly) yum yum...... now I think YUK. Can you adopt me please? I will even do your exercises with you - I am meant to be doing mine still after the knee replacement to build up my quads, but I keep forgetting....

  17. We've only just got rid of the kids! Well, since you asked so nicely consider yourself virtually adopted. No slacking on those exercises, though... those quads won't get stronger by themselves.
