The Last Supper

Okay... this is my last meal before tomorrow’s ordeal. I would have thought a condemned man might have been able to choose something a bit special like a juicy steak, guinea fowl or humming bird tongues in aspic, but it in the NHS it appears not. Mind you, this is one place where you’re actually grateful for having the sign 'Nil By Mouth' pinned above your bed!

Cream of vegetable.soup. Where’s the cream or the vegetables?

Main course... no prize for guessing that one

God knows what’s hiding under that uranium enriched custard

  2. I am hallucinating, I'm sure we've been here before. It was no better then either.

All the best for tomoorow, Zoe

  3. The mac and cheese doesn't look too bad. Thank heavens for black pepper, eh?
Is custard a daily requirement over there? I have a tin of Horne's in the cupboard; I should dig it out.

  4. That should probably be "Hornes's".

  5. You should have told them you've got a broken leg, not yellow fever. I don't think I've ever seen such a yellow meal.

Good Luck Traction Man - and my husband's just told me it's Thursday I'm off to the theatre, so I'm quite safe keeping all digits crossed.

  7. We had pasta carbonara tonight but yours seems to be a poor approximation. And you didn't have the garlic bread.

Very best of luck for tomorrow.

  10. what are the black bits on the macaroni - all the very best for tomorrow, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love the article about the Nutt affair - have you also heard the one about the man who was locked into an ambulance all night after the ambulance man forgot he was in the back, locked up and went home. if it wasn't true, it could be quite funny, poor man, i hope he was not too traumatised. hope you are free of metal by this time tomorrow, it will be (excuse the pun) a step in the right direction..

  17. Hi TM,

I would eat double that amount of macaroni cheese. I wonder if Mrs TM could sneak you in some chilly powder. If you add enough, you would not taste the crap food, and as long as the texture is ok, you could think you are in an upmarket posh nosh cafe ;)

Once again Good luck for tomorrow, when it comes to physio, you can tell her all the words FRed has taught you (read the first letter of each line) as she makes you do things your body would rather not :S (as a patient who has very bad asthma, leukaemia and has spent long periods in a coma in ICU, I know how hard the physios (hmmm was it an omen I just tried to type psychos ???) can be, but it is in our best interests.

Take great care and I hope the news is GREAT tomorrow.

    Regards,

    Kat in Perth.

  18. Is that one of those diets where the food has to be all a similar colour? Purple day should be interesting...

  19. Oh how I wish someone over there could get Jamie Oliver involved in this ... has he been told? If he can fix school lunches then why not get in on this culinary catastrophe colour co-ordination ... or has JO already been told?
