There's a reason why they've hidden the meat under the sprouts
Cooking sprouts so they melt in your mouth takes years of experience. Not quite sure what that cardboard is doing under the sprouts
Someone asked to see a dessert that didn't feature custard... so here's some deliciously warm strawberry ice cream.
To be honest, that doesn't look too bad! Or perhaps, as you say, it's down to the photographer's skill. It looks better, at least in the picture, than the cat sick you have been served recently.
ReplyDeleteIt might not look too bad but I know what NHS roasties and sprouts taste like. Best left well alone.
ReplyDeleteI can agree with that. This is the one dish they can make that looks less disgusting than all the others. Unfortunately, reheated roast potatoes have little to recommend them. Have you ever eaten cold roast potatoes on a Monday or Tuesday. The meat is always sliced thinner Victoria Beckham's profile and the gravy has all the charm of an Oxo cube thickened with wallpaper paste.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the grammar. I'm cruising on Oramorph right now as that damned knitting needle in my leg is giving me gip!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were on the luxury menu and that 'pudding' was taramasalata.
ReplyDeleteI think the overcooked veg is deliberate so any pensioners who can actually feed themselves in hospital like it. I know my Nana used to cook veg for so long it used to disintegrate at the sight of a fork, and my Gran liked her veg 'well done' (ie mush) too.
It's been so long since I ate anything crunchy or chewy that my teeth are turning soft. I'm going to have to get a piece of wood to gnaw on to stop my teeth getting to long. The nurses keep threatening to puree my food... I said I thought they already were!
ReplyDeletedude , enquiring minds want to know , what is the lumpy white substance hiding between thye carrots and meat ?mom swears its a dumpling , i say no way , what did the menu say it was?
ReplyDeleteApple sauce
ReplyDeleteI hope the Oramorph is working.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I think you're not the only one who's becoming institutionalised. That actually made me hungry! Worrying.
ReplyDeleteIt's working but I am needing it every three hours so you can imagine the pain is quite severe especially since I have 100mg of Tramadol and 1000mg of paracetamol every four hours. This pin definitely needs to go.
ReplyDeleteAn Englishwoman abroad - I'm worried about you. It must be das Heimweh or homesickness as we call it.
ReplyDeletemom still doesnt believe that was applesauce , is there anyway you can send us a sample so she can have it analysed?
ReplyDeleterhonda,usa
I think you'll find that sending radioactive substances through the US Mail is a bit of a no no. You're going to have to take my word for it.
ReplyDeleteYou sure they are not giving you all those drugs to keep you quiet? Not that I am belittling the pain you must be in..........
ReplyDeletePerhaps they are hoping you will start hallucinating and think the food is excellent. They have more than one way of shutting you up - trust me, I know.
Well, if they are it's not working. To be fair it's me who's asking for the drugs, but they never refuse.
ReplyDeleteok , she has determined that itr must have been made from specially raised albino apples .
ReplyDeletetell you what , i will send you a hot dog from the theme park i went to , it wil make you gratefull for your food .
rhonda , usa
I hope the pain eases soon. Is it worse from moving rooms?
ReplyDeleteNo... I think it's the leg beggining to reject the pin. Human bodies don't appreciate foreign bodies especially if you add weight to the pin. Let's hope the soca say the pin can come out on the 4th November. Not sure I can do another two or three weeks after that. Three months in a bed without standing up is enough for anyone.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me ....... must get the sprouts on for Christmas :-)
ReplyDeleteIs that what they are putting in tomorrow?
