One-armed bandit

A one-armed thief is being hunted by police following a robbery at a jewellery store in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. The robber pretended to be looking for a gift for his mother but proceeded to knock over some boxes before making off with a single gold cufflink in the shape of a boxing glove.

The cufflink was valued at £120 and so the police were called in to investigate. When viewing the CCTV images, the shop staff noticed that the thief only had one arm. A man fitting the same description was acting suspiciously in other shops so jewellers in the area had been alerted.

The thief is described as white, bald, wearing a dirty navy blue bomber jacket and blue jeans. Personally, I think he must have been working with an accomplice… After all, how on earth is he going to put the cufflink on by himself?

  1. Strange story! On a side note, I made falafel from scratch today! Chick peas soaked over night, boiled over, strained and mashed with spices, a bit of flour, a bit of breadcrumbs and an egg. Fashioned into patties and fried in olive oil. Yumm! Best wishes from Styria. Barbara

  2. A one armed thief steals one cufflink. I suppose if he ever lost it, he could always go back for the other one. Still...one cufflink...not a very ambitious felon. Maybe he was just being practical... as in... "What would I do with two cufflinks?" Actually,he could pierce his ear and use the other as an earring. Do you think he may have had a fancy dress event to attend? Might be a bit dodgy to attend now that everyone is looking for a one armed thief with 120 quid boxing glove cufflink on the end of his fancy hand made shirt. Or...you think maybe he's going to have to go out and steal a one sleeve shirt? I wouldn't put it past him.

  3. Those falafel sound good. What do you serve with them?

  4. Actually, I just ate the falafel. Kind of "fast food", I guess, because I had an urgent appointment shortly after lunch break. You could of course serve them with salad and/or with garlic yoghurt (which would be tsatsiki without cucumber) or with tsatsiki?! And pita bread. Best wishes! Barbara

  5. I accidentally touched my mouse and it ticked "disgusting". Could you undo it?

  6. Sorry, I don't think I can but if someone else feels like ticking it, then don't and the score will be settled...
